A network of environmental groups starts an information campaign on February the 11th at the Golden Triangle near Chiang Saen. In nine days they do a march along the Mekong River down to Wiang Kaeng, explaining local people the impact of industrialization projects on the Mekong River. Particularly the planned dam in Sanyabury (Laos), the dams in China and the blasting of rocks in the Mekong basin are in the focus of the campaign.
They will be about 100 people joining the march. They will arrive in Chiang Khong at the 15th of February. Here they will stay at the Teacher's Camp near the border crossing and performing activities there at the afternoon / evening of the day. On the 16th they will continue their walk to Wiang Kaeng.
